JAGUAR ID PROJECT

The Jaguar ID Project is a non-profit conservation initiative dedicated to protecting jaguars in Brazil's Northern Pantanal. Through citizen science, wildlife photography, and long-term monitoring, the project identifies individual jaguars using their unique spot patterns — much like a fingerprint.

 

By building a comprehensive database of jaguar identities, behaviors, family relationships, movements, and territories, the team provides valuable insights that support research and conservation.

 

The project also engages local communities, promotes responsible jaguar tourism, operates camera trap programs, and develops educational initiatives to inspire the next generation of wildlife stewards. Together, these efforts help ensure a future where jaguars and people can thrive side by side.
